Community Standards
Otaku VillageConis committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive experience for everyone. All attendees, guests, staff, and volunteers are expected to follow these rules at all times.
Code of Conduct
Be Respectful
Treat fellow attendees, guests, staff, and venue employees with kindness and respect. Disagreements happen — keep discussions civil.
Follow Venue Rules
Respect all posted venue policies, fire codes, and local laws. Weapons and prop policies must be followed at all times.
Artist Applications
Harassment of any kind verbal, physical, sexual, or online is strictly prohibited. This includes unwanted advances, slurs, and intimidation.
Influencer / Creator
Applications
Bootleg merchandise, counterfeit goods, and stolen art are not permitted in vendor or artist areas. Support original creators.
Respect Boundaries
Always ask before touching, photographing, or commenting on someone's appearance. Cosplay is not consent. No means no.
Zero Tolerance
Breaking any of these rules may result in immediate removal from the event without refund and a ban from future NovaCon events.
Zero Tolerance
No room for hate or harassment.
NovaCon has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind — including but not limited to verbal abuse, physical intimidation, stalking, unwanted photography, discriminatory language, and sexual harassment.
If you experience or witness any inappropriate behavior, report it immediately to any staff member, security personnel, or at the Info Desk. Reports can also be sent to otakueventsllc@gmail.com
Violators may be removed from the event without refund, banned from future NovaCon events, and reported to local authorities if warranted. Our staff's decision on enforcement is final.
Consequences
Cosplay is not consent. Wearing a costume does not give anyone permission to touch you, photograph you without asking, make lewd comments, or invade your personal space.
Always ask before taking photos of cosplayers or touching their props, wigs, or costumes. Respect their answer — no means no, and if someone is uncomfortable, stop immediately.
Body paint, revealing outfits, and creative expression are never an invitation for harassment. Treat every attendee with dignity regardless of what they are wearing.
Respect Boundaries
Cosplay is not consent.

Rules of the house
Harassment & Discrimination
Harassment includes offensive comments, sexual language or imagery, intimidation, stalking, unwanted photography, sustained disruption of talks or events, and inappropriate physical contact. Discriminatory behavior based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or any protected class will not be tolerated.
01
Cosplay & Photography
Always ask before taking photos of anyone in cosplay. Do not touch costumes, props, wigs, or body paint without explicit permission. Leering, catcalling, or making sexual comments about cosplayers is harassment. Props must comply with our weapons policy and be peace-bonded if required.
02
All weapons and prop replicas must be checked and peace-bonded at the security desk. No functional weapons of any kind are allowed. Props that can fire projectiles, have sharp edges, or contain liquids or gasses must be inspected. Brandishing props in a threatening manner is grounds for immediate removal.
03
Weapons & Props Policy
Alcohol & Substances
Alcohol consumption is permitted only in designated areas and for attendees of legal drinking age. Intoxication that leads to disruptive or unsafe behavior is not tolerated. Illegal substances are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal and law enforcement notification.
04
Vendor & Artist Alley Conduct
Vendors and artists must sell only legal, original, or licensed goods. Counterfeit merchandise, bootlegs, and stolen or traced artwork are not permitted and will be confiscated. Vendors must follow all tax and licensing requirements.
05
Public Behavior & Dress Code
All attendees must wear appropriate coverage in public convention spaces. While cosplay is encouraged, full nudity and sexually explicit attire are not permitted outside of designated 18+ areas. Public displays of affection should remain tasteful and appropriate for a family-friendly environment
06
Children & Minors
Children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. NovaCon staff are not responsible for supervising minors. Parents are responsible for their children's behavior and compliance with all event policies.
07
Reporting & Enforcement
If you experience or witness a violation, contact any NovaCon staff member, security guard, or visit the Info Desk immediately. You may also email otakueventsllc@gmail.com. Reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly. NovaCon reserves the right to remove anyone from the event without refund for violating this code.
